Luke Knudson - Preservationist

Luke Knudson purchased this home in February 2020 at the age of 17 and spent four years restoring it in a manner aesthetically fitting for the period it was built. He endeavoured to both preserve what remained of the original details, as well as to source and install salvaged elements to replace what was lost to time and insensitive renovations.

His intention was to seamlessly integrate modern convenience with the original structure to create a living experience comfortable for the present whilst imbued in the past. Luke is passionate about historic preservation and has involved himself with it his entire life. The Old General Store Antiques, a business Luke successfully operated for nearly nine years, proved invaluable in furthering his knowledge of restoration, historic home styles, preservation techniques, elements of design, business operation, real estate investing, and history in general. He also served on the Guild of Trail End State Historic Site in Sheridan for nearly a decade, fulfilling the role of treasurer for six years. Luke now resides in Asheville, NC, having moved to pursue additional opportunities in the field and is currently restoring an apartment building. Additionally, Luke has recently begun offering historic design consulting services and operates an antique lighting restoration business. He is passionate about travel and culture and has an affinity for nature and gardening.
