Antique Radio Restoration and Integrating Modern Technology
This radio was manufactured by the Philco Radio Corporation in 1929 as a domestic alternating current AM receiver and was offered as a high end production item. It features a rich walnut wooden cabinet with a pull out writing surface/drawer, reed and laurel carved legs, small concealed storage areas, and doors to disguise the receiver and create the illusion of an ordinary piece of furniture when closed. The radio originally sold for $215.00. It was designed with 8 tubes and has a phono input to utilise the radio’s audio system with an electric phonograph. The radio has been restored and is now bluetooth capable.
